Nicholas of Cusa

The below link is to a biographical paper I wrote on Nicholas of Cusa in the fall of 2003 for Dr. Spivey's (now of B.H. Carroll) History of Christianity I.

I first became interested in Nicholas of Cusa when I was an undergraduate at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. I had the privilege to study under Dr. H.L. Bond who, not only being one of my favourite professors, is one of the most brilliant men I have ever known. He is professor of Medieval and Renaissance History, an ordained minister of the United Methodist Church, and a noted scholar who has written extensively on the life and works of Cusa.

I took many of Dr. Bond's classes throughout my college career. I found him to be a very godly and learned man. He taught me much about my faith and the world I live in; I am forever greatful for his teachings and Christlikeness.

Nicholas of Cusa is one of the most fascinating figures of Western Christendom. A scholar, philosopher and theologian, his understanding of the faith has only recently been revived and appreciated by modern scholars. For a modest introduction to the life, works and importance of Nicholas of Cusa, read the essay.
