Ten Reasons Why Willy Wonka Is A Capitalist Pig

10. He is chairman and CEO of the largest multinational candy factory in the world and is worth billions but a family (the Buckets) just down the street from his home is starving.

9. He stages a massive, world wide advertising/publicity campaign without regard to the chaos such a venture creates in the public sphere.

8. He refuses to allow his factory to be inspected by Health and Human Services in compliance with federal regulations.

7. He circumvents Federal Food and Drug regulations.

6. He appears to have no regard for O.S.H.A. regulations.

5. His massive multinational corporation pushes the smaller candy making factories (e.g., Slugworth’s) out of business.

4. His company’s products are a leading cause of childhood obesity (e.g., Augustus Gloop).

3. His factory pollutes the environment.

2. His negligence results in the bodily injury and mental anguish of four families that are invited by him to visit his factory.

1. He lays off all of his local factory workers and hires foreign workers (i.e., the Oompa-Loompas).
