Proof for the Existence of God

If God does exist, then the very fact that humans know of his existence means that some form of proof has been offered and accepted.

If God does exist, then enough proof has been given to convince 95% of the world’s population at any time in history.

Those who do not believe in God claim the need for proof; those who do believe in the existence of God already have the proof they need.

Question, how then do you separate this statement from the following:

"I believe in pink, polka-dotted elephants".

Does this mean that because I believe it, I've been given enough evidence to believe this, and therefore have cause? Is it even more true that pink, polka-dotted elephants exist if I convince large numbers of people to agree that it must be true?

Or is there a different reason that something is true or false?....

oooooh, the intrigue of it all :-) Blessings,

Answer:

The statements made above based upon the assumption that God DOES exist, but, perhaps, objective proof is inaccessible t0 humans. If God DOES exist, but objective proof is currently inaccessible, then the fact that people believe in this God is evidence that some form of proof has been given to people to make them believe that this God does exist.

The statement concerning “pink, polka-dotted elephants" would only be similar to the argument that I made if “pink, polka-dotted elephants" did exist.

This post was just another exercise in my exploration of the subjective, relational and personal aspects of the Faith.
